NCR's value doesn't directly correlate with the project's internal functions or status. There are hundreds of users on daily. If you view only from a portfolio of a currency, you don't get the correct narrative.

I'm not aware of a roadmap for NCR, as that'd be either mentioned within the whitepaper itself or via updates from Karel. However, once again, if you only pay attention to NCR, then you aren't paying attention to Neos. The two are related, in that NCR is Neos's currency at this time, but NCR cannot work without Neos, not the other way around.

However, as far as I understand, Neos is not being developed any further at the moment because the two parties are not in agreement. The users create based on what is possible with the current version.

That said, the co-owner and lead programmer is online every day in neos. Its not too much of a stretch to think thats not purly to meet people. Also you can see when the version doesn't match with your version of someone online. So its probably not so much "stop of development" as it is "stop to release versions to public" -
That and if I'm not mistaken, but the community has been busy with plug-in development for Neos still. Those would also show up as separate versions, though modifications for the client still would work natively.

Recently upgraded to an RTX 3090. Homeworld runs at 144fps, ~70fps in crowded ones

How do you get these frames? I have an RTX 3090 as well, but I hardly get anything above 45fps -
hmm... what CPU? I previously had a 7700k, and that held my 2080 back. In addition, I think I still have the FSR2.0 mod installed and set to a high radius with render masking, which also gives a sizable bump

Also, in the app's menu on SteamVR, there's an option to adjust another setting down at the bottom. I can't remember the name, but it heavily impact's Neos's performance above all others. It has to do with priority or something

It's a vive pro 2 coming with it's own compositor which seems to lock frame rates to multiples. No motion smoothing

@VRChat I have spend 4 years in VRChat evolving my avatars over time. Everytime I made a new version of it, I saved it, and cherished it. I have at every step of the way been supporting and following TOS to a T. Even financialy supported them. Yet, I get treated like this. 🗑️

I'm all for banning people who cause trouble, but as brought up, if people cause issues on somewhere else, they will get banned. If you form a central ban list, you basically repeat the same thing, crypto or otherwise. In essense, if people claim 'crypto is decentralized', then why use a centralized, enforced ban list that you also have no say over

the best thing I can think of is not really a list, but rather lists. pural. Multiple groups stored in a decntralized manor that allows you to pick and choose the lists you wish to subscribe to. This means people can defaultly opt into the primary, governed list, but also decide not to, with the giant caution being "at your own risk and without support"

Yeah this is difficult to make like Neos also got rules like no gambling and such so it will never be truly decentralized -

Neos, as it is currently, is already far more decentral then any other platform i ever used. Its not so much that there is some amazing system behind it, its the opposite. The ones in charge of a world is formost the server owner... if that server is connected to the neos network, it has (as a public world) to adhere to the rules of the neos moderators. Two different instances of ban-lists that could exist for a different layer. If someone would been banned from the neos network, he still could use neos, just not connect its world to that particular network. The listing server for public worlds.

honestly, that's something I've come to see as a rather large flaw in most of these "web3" projects that showstops them in their own tracks

like, my project that lets me stream the SteamDeck directly into Neos: it's based on an NGINX relay internally within my network. If I DCed from the Internet, this would still function. Same goes for my smart home center, administration systems, etc.

That's what puts Neos in a weird spot: it functions like said service, where you can host locally ala LAN and headless, BUT is proposed to be reliant on a chain... a central one, at that.

Users who do a lot of positive and productive things for a metaverse should be rewarded financially and also have voting rights over the rights of the respective metaverse. If a user spends four years of his life in the metaverse, he should also be able to participate and have a say. Maybe there is a stone age metaverse. Rule also our laws are actually fictitious and exist only because we believe in it.

Not a chain though. More like decentralization through separate centralized and managed services that work together in a Fediverse. Then you can choose your services you trust or even run your own and you're still able to connect to people who are using other services

Can we just please stop changing anything in that system, as each change, no matter what it is, makes the code larger, as it has to support more exceptions

not supporting daylight saving would actually make the code shorter if anything... its a case less to watch out for. But realisticly speaking it doesn't change anything, because this is only a change one country does.

Half ot he programmers life is to make code longer. The only half is cutting all that crap out you have written yourself and shorten it again. Making a single entry in a database is nothing compared to the hundrets of daily ideas that may or may never get used you will find in the code.

Its a total missunderstanding of programming that another featur means "just adding more lines of code". Its often the case that you have something that happens once, then its 20 lines, it happens twice, its 38 lines, it happen a third time in a different way you refactor and add it to a total of 45 lines and at that point you realize you need to use this way more often. So you spend time, make it more compact, make it use a list and suddenly its 18 lines, just including any possible case that could happen...

Yes, you are right. Time zones are a menece and so are summer/winter time or changes of time, expecially because you often "go back in time" and suddenly things look stupid when they happend already "in the future" from your current point of view. But removing that can only be a good thing, long term.

because, removing from this group doesn't help, the userlist has been scraped already. And I've seen with lots of these bots, when they message me, we don't share any common groups. So my guess is, they join here, scrape userlist and use that with other accounts to message people. That's why I am not hesitant to block and report for spam anyone who messages me a simple hello and I don't see any connections to why they would know me

yup, there it is. What's weird is if you go to discover apps, when signed into the hub, Neos is not listed by default. Heck, even in the A-Z in the side section, Neos isn't even listed in Virtual Worlds, while again a dead platform is and VRC

There's a difference between a confirmed date and just some wish that one developer hopes the issues might have been resolved. Let's stick to what has been confirmed

To elaborate on the responses, most people tend to hang out in their home worlds, which are private by default. You can think of it like people inviting eachother to their residences to hang out, where the locations are still private. Sometimes people will spin up public locations, which then tend to act as parks that people visit and hang out.
So, usually it also depends on the time of day when the people who prefer to visit a park come on -

also providing the press kit on the main website might help with some content being published on other sites by creators using the old logo and such might be solved by providing the new one on a page of the main site or in the footer
