I see how you interpreted it that way, but taking time to learn and understand the business and its people is key to making good decisions later that can impact those people or processes. Decisions have been made in the past and nothing is ever off the table, but they should start with a discussion/conversation with the subject mater experts in each of the domains before one can make an informed decision.

I haven't read that yet, but I would disagree with placing blame on Andrea. She was hired to do a job and was trying to do it. I heard directly from her what thoughts she had on how to improve DevOps, priorities - I saw these were areas that were lacking from my short time on the board so I was really encouraged that she joined the team because I really thought she'd bring in experiences in these areas that the team need to help to become more organized.

I've gone ahead and passed along the concern in the Discord for further assistance. They've stated you can kill Neos and try to relaunch it with an extra parameter, which will force Neos to sync any outdated information. I think the 'menu laser' is based on the controller's laser, but don't quote me on that. You can offset your avatar's laser pointer to better match what you want, but usually the two are in sync.

You might want to poke the Discord for that one. The online mentors should be able to better figure out what is the cause, since I can easily see that might be a bug, but might also be an unintended option in this case

One more thing to check is that you have enough storage available. Otherwise things will save locally but not sync.

I know it hasn't been updated in a while but I've heard that some users who are reading the perks on the Patreon are being turned away when seeing specifically the NFT perk, even though currently Neos does not have platform support for NFTs or deliver an NFT perk outside of the platform. Hi @Dark_Dutchie Nice to meet you here and sorry to hear you are having problems with the upload. You could try to back up the user data directory to “get unstuck”
Try this solution please :
1. Go to the AppData folder
Should be under %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp\Solirax\NeosVR\
2. Rename the NeosVR folder (make sure that the folder you are renaming is in LocalLow)
What this will do is create a new data directory, and clear the queue, so you will have to start with “clean Neos”, meaning you will have to go through the initial tutorial again, but it should help.
As someone mentioned, it doesn’t happen too often but it happens.
Usually for me it's when I try to upload something more complex or “broken” 😁 so it basically jams it.
This will need some more elegant solution in time but for now it should help you.
If you are still stuck, please contact the team on Discord, they will do their best to help.🌻 -

Neos doesn't take that much processing power, even at 3 times the players, simply because the worlds are hosted by the players, not the service. Thats the reason its not completly burned to the ground by now

VRC uses slot storage, meaning can favorite X avatars unless subscribed. (Uploads are unlimited... for some reason)
Neos uses capacity storage, so uploading an avatar that is 100MB uses 100MB of your storage on your account. This can be used also for other things, like videos, images, or other items. -

At the end of the day, Geenz has gaslit Frooxius into assuming the role of the abused housewife and it's almost infantilizing. They've weaponized emotional manipulation to win people over and it's something pretty typical of clout seeking furries. Geenz is an opportunist and he's leveraging this situation as a power play which is a very Second Life furry dev thing to do.
It's all cloak and dagger games and I saw it happen repeatedly in Second Life between the 3rd party viewer development groups. The ideal solution would be Frooxius snapping out of it and working things out with Karel, and both of them yeeting the non-contracted volunteers out of the project. In the meantime Geenz will continue to be wormtongue in the ear of Théoden. -

I genuinely feel sorry for the flock of new users from VRChat who have no idea what they are opting into. Neos is built on a foundation of popsicle sticks and it's all coming down at some point. They've made zero progress with negotiations and the devs will continue to strike until Karel concedes, which he won't. The platform is in an eternal deadlock unless Karel takes the 2.5m left and starts something new from the ground-up.

I know right now it's pretty much an all hands on deck situation, and given that I did have experience in the past helping new users (including situations akin to this one) as well as being friends with some people who are mentors, I understand the chaotic feeling that can entail, so I'm also helping them out as a token of my friendship.

I have a few reasons (already mentioned some above), but I can list one other one:
Effectively, when I am out and doing the MTC hopping shuffle, I'm doing it to help new users, and many have asked about if I was an assistant or mentor. Every single time, I've admitted I was not. From that, I've made their first experience with a non-mentor, a regular user, effectively show that people are more than willing to help out and answer questions. This raises the floor of expectations and also helps improve things for newer people, who might be nervous or overwhelmed with the new environment.
Anything that a mentor can do will almost always exceed what I can offer. They are the ceiling and expectations of desirable support. Rather than the range of expectations be large, I'm also contributing, as are many others, to keep them far higher and help enhance their first time. -
I sadly cannot find the quote, but it was (if I recall) from the maker of the Sims.
It somewhat goes as the following:
"You have 5 minutes to draw the attention of the player.
If you succeed, you have another 5 to have them engaged.
If they stay, you have another 5 minutes to help keep them hooked and happy.
If you can do all this for at least 30 minutes, you have a player who is happy and will stay."
Helping the first 5 minutes of a player get through the tutorial and answer any questions is important. -

Well... VRChat had plenty of furries and the like, and they got large investments. About 50% of new users I helped out were not furries. Sounds like assuming that Neos is some kind of corporate entity or should aspire to a suit and tie mentality might be more of not being aware of the current times and how many metaverse systems are viewed.

The headless unfortunately can only be acquired by a patreon tier. However, if you want more information on operating that, the discord has dedicated channels to discuss their operations.
However, it isn't required to run a world. Worlds can be operated by creating their sessions. Headless clients are just dedicated clients to run sessions, and nothing more. -

I happen to agree with Frooxius there in that Neos is a place for everyone. Some people are looking to use Neos for creation and expression, and others are looking for opportunities to generate income. Fortunately, Neos holds the potential to meet the demands of both groups...and if you don't think that's possible, just look at what people have already built. -
Unfortunately, there are a lot of scam projects out there right now, so people might have a bad taste in their mouth when it comes to crypto. And yes, there is the ongoing situation that doesn't help at all. But hopefully some people are able to see past the current drama.
Personally I am excited about the potential of Neos as a decentralised metaverse for everyone and all the positive ways we will be able to support creators. But if you see no value in NCR or don't feel comfortable about it at this point, it is completely okay, just come and enjoy the game— it's there if you want it and if you want to support the project, but the platform itself will always remain free. No need to ostracise either group.
